The City of Summit Department of Community Services has partnered with the NJDEP and Rutgers University to develop a Climate Change-Related Hazard Vulnerability Assessment (CCRHVA) for the City of Summit. A CCRHVA helps a municipality identify potential land use and zoning strategies to increase resilience to climate-related hazards such as flooding and heat. The goal of this assessment is to identify and analyze local climate hazards; vulnerable assets, infrastructure, and populations; impacts to Master Plan elements; and potential strategies to reduce risk. A public engagement session will be held on Thursday, May 14, from 7PM to 8:30PM in the Whitman Community Room at City Hall in Summit (512 Springfield Avenue). CCRHVA leads from Rutgers will share findings from the draft assessment and get input from residents. If you are unable to attend the public engagement session, please consider completing the questionnaire to provide your feedback online: https://rutgers.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bwJCW3B9S4DlloG?Q_CHL=qr . — This event was sourced from public community calendars.
