1. Who we are
BYLOCAL NJ LLC ("ByLocal," "we," "us," or "our"), a New Jersey limited liability company, operates the ByLocal mobile application and website (the "Platform"). Contact us at privacy@bylocal.app.
2. Information we collect
We may collect account and contact information, profile information, content you submit, customer-support communications, purchases and transaction records, approximate or precise location when you allow it, app interactions, device and user identifiers, crash reports, and performance data. Payment-card details are collected directly by Stripe and are not stored by ByLocal.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure the Platform, authenticate users, process transactions, personalize local content, support users, send service communications, prevent fraud, measure performance, improve features, and measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
4. Advertising measurement and tracking
The iOS app may use the Meta SDK to measure which advertisements lead people to ByLocal. With your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, device identifiers and product-interaction data may be linked with data from apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising measurement. If you decline, ByLocal does not access the iOS advertising identifier for tracking. We do not sell personal information for money.
5. Service providers and sharing
We share information as needed with businesses or organizers involved in your transaction and with service providers including Google and Firebase for authentication, storage, analytics, and notifications; Stripe for payments; Google Maps for location services; Apple for sign-in and platform services; Expo and Sentry for app delivery, diagnostics, and performance; and Meta for advertising measurement when permitted. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the Platform.
6. Your choices and rights
You can deny or change tracking permission in iOS Settings, control location and notification permissions, update your profile, and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, deletion, portability, or limits on certain uses of your information by contacting privacy@bylocal.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
7. Retention and security
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here and for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, and security obligations. We use technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure.
8. Children
The Platform is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. International processing
Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or other reasonable means, and the date above will be updated.
